How to get VMNET 3 to bridge to external network
10/02/08 at 14:45:50

I have an issue in which I created a virtual lab network with 1 server 2003 VM, 3 Win 2k vm's and 1 XP v. I have all virtual Ethernet adapters connected to VMnet3 using static IP's 10.1.1.x and I wanted to have them connect to the internet but cant.

I tried using Smoothwall firewall OS and created a VM with 2 nics, 1 nic connected to VMnet3 (using 10.1.1.1)and the other connected to VMnet0(DHCP). Thinking in theory that the data would pass through and give me internet connectivity. But no success

Is there another was to connect these for internet access but still be on the 10.1.1.x network.

Is there a VM appliance that does this or do you think I configured my firewall wrong.

I hope this was clear and thanks for all your help.
