How to test VM Monitoring?
Feb 9th, 2010 at 5:56pm

Hi,
I have an VMware HA set up configured to support my application in VMWare HA setup. HA set up is working fine with out any issues.
There is an option to enable VM Monitoring, which is used for reseting the VM's if heart beet is not listened during some interval of time.
I want to test this scenario before implementing it in production environment.
Can, any one help me in testing this scenario.
What shall i do to trigger this event?

Thanks,
kashi

Hmmmm.... good question. How about just stopping and disabling vmware tools? Not sure if that would lose heartbeat though.

Have you tried BSOD-ing the VM?
