VM visible to another PC
Feb 12th, 2010 at 9:06am

I have installed VMWare player 3 on WIndows XP Pro. I started a VM and installed Fedora 12 with apache server. My kid developed a simple webpage and I put it on the fedora apache server to test. It works on my PC but cannot access the webpage on his PC.

My PC and my kid PC are both connected to a router and the VM can be seen in the router as a separate machine.

Would be very much appreciated if any one can help me to fix this. Thanks in advance.

Can the fedora virtual machine get to the internet?

Also it may be a firewall on the Fedora server that is blocking remote connections.

Can you access the web pages from the local fedora computer?

yep, the VM can use Firefox to go to internet, like google.com, yahoo.com and gmail.com.

yep, the web page can be accessed on the VM and the local machne (my PC). It is only not working on my kid PC.

Other info.:

I am not an expert in using fedora so not really sure how to config the Fedora firewall (or should I disable it for testing?). I am using Norton 360 on my PC.
