need to re connect to iSCSI SAN without formatting
Mar 8th, 2010 at 7:18am

Since restarting both our ESX 3.5 server and a Dell MD3000i iscsi SAN, the LUN on the SAN no longer appears as storage in infrastructure client. The iscsci adapter can see the targets fine but no storage appears in the storage list. Because one of the disks attached to a VM resides on this LUN its preventing the VM from starting correctly. To get it to boot we've removed that hard drive for now but when trying to add the storage back its asking to format the LUN again. Is there a way to connect back to the LUn without reformatting the disk. Tried to raw disk map to it but that see's it as unallocated space when viewing in 2003 server. Any ideas ?? Thanks
